The Community Alliance Network

The aim of the Community Alliance Network (CAN) is to strengthen and support the capacity of visionary community leaders in highly under-developed rural areas to expand and successfully achieve their locally-based projects and initiatives. These initiatives support clean water generation, health care, education for orphans and vulnerable children and education and empowerment for women. Our aim is to facilitate the spread of ideas and initiatives throughout these rural communities and beyond.

Who is the Community Alliance Network??

CAN came to life in 2009 when we visited a Western Province of Kenya. We experienced first-hand the impact of a devastating drought in Kenya; a situation that is only likely to worsen. During our travels we had the opportunity to meet some exemplary and visionary community leaders - Joyce Oneko, Betty Lubanga and Benter Odhiambo - founders of Mama na Dada, ICODEI and Kanyala Little Stars Academy. They have achieved incredible feats with very limited resources. It is no exaggeration to say their impact on the communities in which they live have been life altering.
